Driving across the hill country in Texas reminds us of the reality of a wonderful supreme Creator who gave us a natural beauty that no man can create or destroy on his own. Topping a hill, a kaleidescope of colors, shapes, terrains and vegetation becomes a palette bigger than any that a mere human can create.
At that point, one experiences true humility. Any person of true character cannot believe that humans control this earth. What foolish and futile people try to. It makes those leaders in high places who with much pomp and circumstance, preach from high pulpits of power that they have the answers to tame the wind, air, waters, and future of this planet and its creatures.
Nature, by its very name, is well....natural. Should we stand in awe of this beautiful planet? Yes. Should we respect and nurture it? Yes. This should be taught as each individual's responsibility...just as we breathe, we should nurture our home, the earth.
Is this what our government has in mind with "Global Warming" legislation? No. Government has no "heart". It only has rules carried out by arrogant people. People who want to be God. This is why all this type of action is doomed to fail.
Our forefathers knew that in order to have a just government, we had to govern with an attitude of humility and servitude. That is why the Constitution was written with its wonderful balance of power. It was based on the natural laws. When men decide that they are bigger than this, and do not need to be humble, mankind and this beautiful planet will once again cry great tears of anguish.
The earth and its people will win again. It always does....but foolish men seem to need to bring it down, destroy all progress, and put its people through all kinds of misery before the cycle can start over. Wouldn't is be wonderful if we could stop this cycle, and truly celebrate each individual's greatness?
Random rantings from a common sense approach to social issues. Still clinging to my guns and my religion, I am trying to understand the universal laws of a civilized society. As a descendant of five generations of Texans, I have a strong legacy bred into me of individual freedom and independent living.
