I just left a Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Kevin Brady. I have watched Rep. Brady's career since its early beginnings in Montgomery County, Texas. After the first stimulus bill fiasco where Rep. Brady ignored his constituents and voted "for" the bill, he has since turned around and is now listening. He has actually "read" the health care bill, and has even designed a flow chart of the bill and how it will work once it is passed.
Frustration filled the room. Fear surfaced from constituents who see President Obama overstepping his Constitutional rights, and surrounding himself with "special" advisers (Czars) who have radical, socialistic, communistic backgrounds. Some compared President Obama's moves to a "coup d'etat" of the American Constitutional government as he continues to ignore the Constitution by using "Executive Orders" to make policy.
The American citizenry does not currently have a level playing field. Even Kevin Brady stated this fact. Under the umbrella of "green" legislation or "diversity" and "equal rights", laws are being funded and written by fringe groups who do not believe in the American Constitution. Hidden agendas and secret policies are business as usual for the current administration. The sad truth is that our own legislators, full of their own self-importance trust special interest groups to "research" and "read" bills for them. These bills are filled with private agendas of special interest groups wants and wishes instead of well thought out policies. The are promoted as "single issue" bills, but make no mistake about this, they are filled with regulations written purposely to restrict the freedom of the average American citizen.
While those who pay taxes and keep the government funded are working hard every day, living on a budget, and being accountable for their home and family, others are robbing the government coffers to fund support for their own agendas. "Never allow a crisis go to waste" stated Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff. What he could have added, but would not have been as politically correct, "When a crisis is not available, create one". That is what these special interest advisers do to get public support for new legislation that only results in giving them (Washington) more power.
What really plays into their scheme is human nature. "Greed" is always pretty much guaranteed to find a friendly crowd who hates it. The "poor" and the "children" when used with supposedly beneficial legislation is just as sure to garner support. It really doesn't take much effort to garner sympathetic support from people who react on the emotional level. That's what kept the hanging tree in business in the old west. Unfortunately, many innocents were hanged using this method of judgement.
The irony that truly puzzles me is how in the name of "diversity" a centralize government can restrict our freedoms, and try to make us all fit in a box of their choosing. Americans cannot be defined or governed by a one size fits all government. We are naturally diverse in race and beliefs. But what has always brought us together is the passion for freedom. Passion to live our lives unfettered by burdensome and oppressive laws enforced by an overbearing powerful few in government. The issues are no more complex than this. In this simplicity is the beauty of America. Those who would complicate the issues are trying to end this passion and control it for their own benefit.

Who wants to be a millionaire? New Gov. Earmarks
I went to this site to see the list of proposed earmarks requested by our federal congressmen and women state by state....http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills/earmarks.
The listing is staggering. How can these Congressmen sleep at night knowing they continue to spend money that we have to borrow from other countries. The debt the US currently has cannot be paid back, and yet the government continues to spend money they do not have. After all, they can just print some more, right?
We are being manipulated and lied to by those in power, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents...it doesn't matter. They want to be re-elected to stay a part of the elite. That's it, POWER. They want their own retirement plan, their own insurance, money to travel anywhere they want to go, to get invited to all the "in" parties, and to be famous. That is what your government representatives campaign for.
After all, life is short, and they need to take what they can while they can. And how do we citizens fit into the plan? We have to keep voting them in, and paying taxes. So how do they keep the masses in line? Earmarks paid for with our hard earned tax dollars. Pretty good scheme. We are bribed by our own money.
And there is more. When the American people get restless and question what they are doing..the government has a "paid machine" to come in and attack us. As "community organizers", these groups (insert ACORN and SEIU) get money from.......guess who? THE GOVERNMENT. So those who want to get legislation through that will give them more power pay people to act like they are regular citizens, attend town hall meetings, and demonstrate in front of television cameras so the media can also justify their stance that the people really want this legislation. It is just those "fringe" citizen groups who do not want it. Name calling also paralyzes opposition, so this is another tactic used liberally in defeating the average American.
So let's see, an average American who questions the legitimacy of the federal government actions, on his own time and without pay has to contend with government paid activist who job is to discredit any grassroots opposition. Pretty slick plan.
Only by great perseverance and tenacity will the American people be able to foil this plan. It will take getting out of our comfort zone, and becoming educated. It will take time. It will take courage. But with the future of our children at stake, there is no choice for those of us who still believe in truth, freedom and justice.

18 Presidents and counting!
I attended a birthday party for one of my cousins this past weekend. He was 90 years old August 22, 2009. He was born during the presidency of Woodrow Wilson, and has lived under 17 more presidents since that time. What a great country we have. One thing has always been certain in this country...the system is made for change. New politicians, new opinions freely expressed, new presidents,or the opportunity for a new president every four years. May we continue to debate the issues that will affect our lives as well as our children's live. May we continue to change leadership when we need better representation. After all, we may be here at 90 to answer for the stances we have taken (or not taken)

Join new Party....Americans
Pitting political party against party serves incumbent politicians well. While we are out arguing and protesting, the Washington politicians are grabbing up as many of our freedoms as they can. They do not believe in representing the grassroots Americans. Whether Democrat or Republican, most career politicians just want to stay in office. If that means they have to lie, cheat, and manipulate us, then so be it.
We are smarter than that!!! We must join the party that supports posterity...Our children and their children will have to live under what ever we let get by. Every person living in American is responsible for the actions of the government. We cannot afford to sit idly by watching re-runs of Saturday Nite Live. Most do not want to "get involved". News flash, you are involved, and so are your children.
We must stop letting partisan politics cloud the water. We must think about truth and what actually preserves our American way of life. Both parties who support career politicians and listen to greed, money and power instead of pleas for simplicity and honesty in our government need to be tossed out. We need to hit the refresh button.
Are there problems in American. You bet...but most were created by government. Career politicians thrive on problems. That way, we need them to solve our problems. Whether Democrat or Republican, their loyalty is to power for themselves. We must rise above partisan politics, and show them that we are not sheep to be manipulated and controlled. Black, white, green, gray....every American must stop this machine now, or condemn posterity to live with the consequences.
