Lazy Media Will Bring Down This Country

Many have called journalist the fourth branch of government, the people's voice to keep governments inline.  What happens when that branch only wants to be invited to the parties and be popular, while spewing talking points.  The people lose their voice in all matters.

Due to instant information, journalist have stopped digging for stories.  Everything is right at their fingertips.  The problem is that the information can be spoon fed from sources with an agenda if not watched.  But those "enlighted" journalist are part of the elite.  After all, they have access to those highest in power, so that must mean they are smart.  They get the talking points, and then, go to the party.  They are wined and dined and included in the elites' talk about a perfect world where all are taken care of and no one has any stress over jobs, healthcare, hate, discrimination, the environment is saved, and everyone will live happily ever after. Everyone feels good, everything is good.......kind of puts one in a trance.

A true independent thinker is rare to find in today's media...someone who questions everything, and looks beyond the talking points. If this is not true, how did we get a president who in any other era would be classified as anti-American....with ties to The Weather Underground, questionable religious affiliation, and someone who spends his time with Union leaders who believe that the workers of the world need to unite.  I have seen politicians go down for much less.

What makes this situation even sadder is that the American people trust their journalist to give them the objective news, to have done the hard work to ferret out the truth.  Americans are busy...jobs, homes, hobbies, bills, health issues...so they want newsmen to keep them informed.    And yet watch any network and you will be fed the same stories using the same words.  Seriously, they all use the same words? At competing networks? Ever play gossip as a kid? Did the word that started ever come out the same at the end of the line? No.  So how does every journalist on every network use the same words?
Same source, same words. same viewpoint.

No wonder Fox news gets better ratings...at least they give a different viewpoint, and in todays news world, that is refreshing, whether you agree or not.

Mainline Churches Infiltrated by Social Justice

Mainline churches have been infiltrated by socialist and communist in the name of charity and helping those in poverty.  Jesus has been made out to be a socialist as these church leaders randomly pick and choose Jesus' words to support their biased positions.

Because Americans are generous and feel a certain amount of guilt due to their blessings, this is an easy sell in the name of social justice for all.  But make no mistake, Jesus believed in individual accountability and charity, not collective.  He was actually a rebel with the idea that every man is accountable to God without going through the Jewish leadership. He stood for individual salvation, not collective.  Each one of us stands before the Lord alone, and gives and account of his/her own life.

America has enemies who have studied the psychology of Americans for a very long time. One aspect of our culture that fascinates them has been our loyalty to God and Christianity.  One way to break that unity is to debunk the beliefs in public and change the beliefs from the inside the organizations that perpetuate the beliefs.

I am a member of the United Methodist Church locally. But I am a conservative first, and a patriot. As a multi-generational American, many of my ancestors have fought and died for the American principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness guaranteed to every citizen by the US constitution.

I do not believe in bigger government, global governance from the United Nations taking precedence over our Constitution, illegal immigration, collective bargaining for ridiculous benefits, or lifetime welfare programs.  Yet the leadership in the Methodist church advocate for all of the above in the name of the carrying on the traditions set by John Wesley through the General Board of Church and Society. They even had a couple of bishops arrested this week protesting spending cuts.  These national leaders of the UMC have partnered with the political group who advocates communistic and socialistic policies, The National Council of Churches.  This is a group which is connect to Faithful America, (http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupProfile.asp?grpid=7603) which receives funding from George Soros and his Open Society group.

Any member of the Methodist Church who donates to the local church supports all of the above financially.  Thus, if I give money to my local church, I am supporting everything I do not believe in.  When brought to the attention of the local pastor, he said no church is perfect.  Really? Thats it....our children's history and future has been stolen, and I am to just look the other way.  Once again, I am the "odd one out" and the troublemaker.

But as I see it, principles should not be compromised, or we become what we dislike. So here I stand alone.....again.

Individual vs. Collective

I have not written on this site for awhile.  But as I watch the politics of this nation unravel, I want to "rant" a bit.

We live in a parallel universe in the US.  We have those that believe in individual accountability and those that believe we do better collectively. The problem with "collective" accountability is that no "one" person can be blamed.  So a member of the group can say "I wasn't for it, but I was out numbered by the group." This dynamic goes on everyday in politics on every level.

It went on a few years back at my children school.  As a parent I went to talk to the principal in his office.  He said he was sorry for my problem with his policy , but all the rest of the parents liked it and gave him positive feed back.  If you are in a large school district, most parents don't know each other, much less talk. So the plan is that you, the complaining parent, just go away thinking that you are just not that important or that you alone feel the program is not working.

I have even seen this carried out in a public meeting.  The principal stacks the results by pre-selecting group leaders who understand his agenda.  He then has parents divide up into groups lead by his pre-selected leaders.   The group leader goes back and makes a pretense of reporting what the group consensus was. Of course, the leader says that his group liked the principals ideas.  The deck is stacked right before your eyes.  You of course always have a few rebels in every crowd, but most parents are timid, afraid that if they speak up , it will affect their child's treatment in school.    You, as a parent, were not in the other groups, so you do not know what was said. So, once again, you figure that your group was the only group that had concerns.

We see this phychological practice carried out on many levels.  It is a manipulation tool used by just about anyone who wants power, but also wants propaganda that supports them. It is dangerous, and has no place in a free and open society.
